Design Tennis::Tennis is a multi-directional aerial sport. The tennis ball may apporach the players at extremely high speed. While illuminance quantity and quality are critical; illuminance uniformity, direct glare, and reflected glare are also very important. Typically the overall playing area for a single tennis court is is 60 by 120 feet. However for a Class I and II facility the oval court area may be as much as 80 by 150 feet. For illumination design purposes, the ovall court surface may be subdivided into the primary playing area and the secondary playing area. A sample layout is below.
